With apologies to Bob Dylan
“There must be some way out of here,”
Said Girardi to himself,
“The pitching’s all gone south –
I can’t get no relief.
Red Sox, they drink the wine,
While Bombers dig the earth.
And none of this is fine,
But my pitching . . . what’s it worth?”
All Along the Watch Tower revisited-very nice allusion Stephen.
Outside in the cold distance,
The fans began to howl,
Two writers were approaching,
Bullpen catchers too….
There are some among us
Who say this win is but a fluke
But you & I, we’ve been through that
And this is not our fate:
We have a lot more games coming up
And the hour’s not too late
I hope it’s worth the wait.
(Sorry, Bob: it’ll hurt less if you don’t try to sing it.)
By the way, Yanks fans: Aroldis Chapman will be available soon, but before getting too giddy about that, remember: the Yanks have to hand Betances, Miller and Chapman a lead before they come in, otherwise, what’s the point?
“One Who Cannot Run”
The Village Elliott: 5/7/16
Old Casey said to GM, “Get Yankees one.”
Weiss says, “Case, you must be puttin’ me on.”
Case says, “No”, George say “What?”
Case say, “Get me who you want, George, but
Next Spring Training want to see one who can run,
So George went out, signs Mrs. Howard’s son;
Case says, “You signed the only one who can not run.”
