My Second Game at Wrigley Field
    The Village Elliott: 7/16

First time felt Wrigley’s wind off the Lake,
Cubs shook Cards like cold wind made me shake
    Felt serenely placid,
    Twas glad I’d dropped acid,
Thought, “Too bad I don’t have more to take.”

The day before, 9/11, I had attended my first game at Wrigley (Cards-Cubs) with my 90 year old Great Uncle, about which I’ve written before. The next day, I returned with my old college friend who had moved to Chicago. We celebrated our reunion by dropping acid. After the game, we walked to the lake, ran a mile along the shore, then searched Old Town for the perfect piece of cheesecake. We found it.

  2. Yesterday I posted the above comment and forgot to add my name. Since I did sign the poem, it was an oversight, not intentional. Oh, well….
