Yogi Berra Dies at 90
Around here, suddenly,
It got late early.
The dugout now is empty,
But not his life and legacy.

Last week I saw a play in which the Giants left fielder looked like Sandy Amoros, arm out-stretched, robbing Yogi Berra of what was likely another World Title, allowing the Dodgers to capture their only flag in Brooklyn in 1955. Today I revised the poem for Yogi:
Next Year Comes Early
For: Yogi and Sandy
The Village Elliott: 9/23/15
Like when Berra smacked ball Grandiose.
Lefty looked like Sandy Amoros,
After fifty long years
“It’s Next Year!” reappears
Calling, “Yogi, time you adios.”
