The Latest Brewer Haiku

by The Brewer Haiku-er (@brew_haiku)

Game 34: Brewers 3, Mets 1
Hader 6-out save
Causes heart attack in 9th
But comes through in end

Game 35: Brewers 2, Mets 2 in 18th
Mets tie it in 9th
Now we’ve gone twice that tonight
So much free baseball

Game 35: Brewers 4, Mets 3 Final
Mets take the late lead
But Braun walks off with 6th hit
Of this marathon

Game 36: Brewers 3, Mets 2
Davies and Yelich
Go deep pitching and hitting
To complete the sweep

Brew Hoo

by Hilary Barta

Milwaukee’s known for quenching thirst
And bellies full of brats and wurst
But served in Chi
Is humble pie:
The Cubs have taken over first.

Brewers 6, Dodgers 5

by Laura Weck

Never expected they got more than asked for
Made evident now by the stand’s mighty roar,
And if this excitement is not enough
How ’bout a homer
By the pitcher Woodruff?

In L.A., fans experience sheer terror
As their team chalks up too many errors
How many pitchers will both teams require?
I’m sure of one thing,
Milwaukee’s on fire.
