Like the baby’s proverbial candy
Home plate was stolen by Randy
The shift left third base
A defender-less place
And the pitcher’s stance came in quite handy.

Cubs owners are right-wing and rotten
Their millions, no doubt, are ill-gotten
Once I cheered for their team
Now they’ve ruined the dream
Though the thrills of the past ain’t forgotten.
These Phillies keep digging holes deep.
The bullpen is more like bull(bleep).
Yet Bryce Harper’s swing,
That magical thing,
May yet make Atlanta fans weep.
Getting no-hit thrice in a season?
Cleveland fans cry, “Stop the bleeding!
Let baseball wind down
We’ll turn to the Browns…”
Wait, wasn’t fandom supposed to be pleasing?
Upset with his team getting booed
Javy Baez gave thumbs down, how rude!
Of course from the stands
The jaded Mets fans
Returned a gesture equally crude.
