Jim Leyland & History

by Stephen Jones

to baseball . . . for fifty years.

He didn’t fail stadium fans —
their team’s porous bats did
like unidentified blips
on baseball’s radar screen.

Mr. Leyland deserved better.

  1. Jay Kenny wrote,

Leyland was a Tiger’s tiger and a Pirate skipper, as well. A great manager with a keen eye and a level head. Sayonara, Leyland-san!
