Back to Cleveland and Erie’s south shore,
To even the series … and more?
If Chicago’s a winner
Chief Wahoo, that grinner,
Will be heaving warm beer on the floor.
Back to Cleveland and Erie’s south shore,
To even the series … and more?
If Chicago’s a winner
Chief Wahoo, that grinner,
Will be heaving warm beer on the floor.
Chicago fans live and breathe hope
Yet Joe’s moves would’ve frightened the pope.
Did he forget he had Wood, Grimm and Strop
When from the pen Aroldis did lope?
Was he “giving himself enough rope”
Or following his horoscope,
Hurtling down a treacherous slope
By aggressively pushing the envelope?
Was our genius skipper really a dope?
Nope!
In last chapter, this season’s last verse:
Which team exorcised their Series curse,
Like “the Babe and the Hub’s”:
Will “Scapegoating the Cubs”
Or the Tribe’s “Curse of Rocco” disperse?
On a triple, to first in a trot?
Don’t fergit what yer taught as a tot:
Run it out, never lag,
On your way to the bag
Always better to hustle than not.
