Why is it that Baron Manfred (of MLB)
Said one day, on national TV,
That they’ve got scientists just to study
The orb, the baseball, as it rotates now?
(Hey … of this, Galileo might be proud.)
And curiouser … why is it, this baseball season,
That — for some unknown reason —
The home runs are just flyin’ (holy cow).
When asked, Baron M just shrugged —
He didn’t know “the science stuff”
Or the reason, and even if he did,
He wasn’t ready for an inquisition.
He must trust in God.
