Pride and Prejudice

Some Tampa Bay Rays
Don’t accept gays
Claiming God don’t approve of their lovin’

They should’ve instead
Spoke of what Jesus said
On the subject, which is of course nothin’.

Isn’t it odd
Some people’s God
Might espouse love but just for a few?

And how white cishet men
Tell you time and again:
“Jesus is great– he thinks just like I do!”

Viva Arozarena!

Like the baby’s proverbial candy
Home plate was stolen by Randy
The shift left third base
A defender-less place
And the pitcher’s stance came in quite handy.

To Ring the Bell on Snell

A bevy of young bureaucrats
Believe winning relies strictly on stats
But when numbers belie
What you see with your eyes
You’ll make changes undeniably bats.
